Changing the default auto email check frequency on the iPhone

I've had a jailbroken iphone for almost a year now but only recently felt the need to try this. By default, the iphone checks for email every 15 / 30 /60 mins. One can change this frequency by editing the com.apple.mobilemail.plist file under /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/ to a lower value if desired. Hopefully, this will not affect the battery life too adversely. Changing any mail settings from the frontend, however, will reset the counter back to 15- so remember to do this again any time you change those.

I also had trouble looking for a decent plist editor for windows- notepad / wordpad / Textpad / Crimson Editor just dont cut it. Was able to locate a stand-alone copy of pledit.exe that makes the job pretty easy. Links below.
